Who's Attending A Holly, Jolly Book Fair?

Updated: Nov 19, 2021

See who's attending Sunday's holiday-themed cozy mystery book fair!

Who is Attending?

Authors in Attendance:

Alice Boatwright

My Ellie Kent mysteries are inspired by my lifelong love of English mysteries, literature, and folk culture, as well as my years spent living in an English village. Like me, Ellie is an ex-pat: a divorced American professor of English literature who falls in love with a handsome widowed vicar, marries him, and moves to his village in the Cotswolds. Then the fun begins. My books offer me the opportunity to create good mystery plots and also explore other themes that interest me. An award-winning short story writer and novelist, I post more information about my writing and life on my website. After 10 years of living in England and France, I now live near Seattle with my writer/photographer husband and two cats.

Katherine Brown

Katherine H. Brown is a book lover, weaver of words, and cozy mystery writer. Katherine enjoys mixing humor, sarcasm, southern-manners, and sweet romance into her books. As a wife and mom, Katherine spends most of her toddler's nap times hiding in the bedroom with her laptop and a bag of chocolate chips cranking out as many words as possible. She hopes that her stories will foster a love of reading and adventure for many generations to come.

Molly Fitz

While USA Today bestselling author Molly Fitz can't technically talk to animals, she and her doggie best friend, Sky Princess, have deep and very animated conversations as they navigate their days. Add to that, five more dogs, a snarky feline, comedian husband, and diva daughter, and you can pretty much imagine how life looks at the Casa de Fitz.

Molly lives in Nova Scotia and occasionally ventures out for good food, great coffee, or to meet new animal friends.

Writing her quirky, cozy animal mysteries is pretty much a dream come true, but sometimes she also goes by the name Melissa Storm (a New York Times bestselling author, yay!) and writes a very different kind of story.

Elle Hartford

Hi everyone! I'm a new author and proud member of the Cozy Mystery Book Club. I grew up in the Pacific Northwest writing fantasy, and today I live in New Jersey working at a museum in order to keep my tortoise and three-legged cat in the style to which they're accustomed. Even though I write mysteries now, I've found that I'm basically incapable of putting pen to paper without incorporating the fantasy I love. Paranormal cozy often means awesome witches or psychic heroines -- well, for me, it means putting that quirky small town in the familiar world of fairytales. In my short stories, you'll meet Red (yes, like Little Red Riding Hood) and her friends as they solve mysteries in the fantastical world "Beyond," where magic is real and sometimes deadly. Red is an alchemist (because when you're danger-prone, it helps to have a sturdy pair of lab gloves and some tricks up your sleeve), so I'm calling my new series "The Alchemical Tales." Some of those are available in anthologies now! Through my newsletter, I'm releasing a series of stories called "The Carousel Capers" for fans of mystery and mythological horses. Stay tuned for news about the novel, too!

Penny Weibly

As a creative writing teacher, I tell my students to write a story that they want to read. So several years ago, I began my cozy mystery series set in Austin, Texas and introduced a young private investigator, Benjamin Kalico, and an intrepid retired English teacher, Emelia Winterjoy. They form a unique partnership with many comic turns. I hope you enjoy!

Kirsten Weiss

I write mystery novels with real, complex, and flawed but likable characters. My heroines aren’t perfect.

But they’re smart. They struggle. And they succeed.

I know all the cozy mystery tropes (and you probably do too). So, I strive to write mysteries that are unique, whether they’re set in a UFO-themed B&B or a pie shop.

Most of my mysteries do contain an element of romance, but the romance isn’t the main story, and the situations aren’t explicit.

Finally, if there’s magic in the story, it works consistently within the world’s rules and is based in the history or the reality of current magical practices.
